Val has been in service to education working as a high school teacher, coach, athletic director, associate principal, and principal at Champlain Valley Union High School. During her career, she has worked on numerous statewide projects, and currently serves education by working with educators and groups on a variety of projects and as an adjunct college professor. She has served as the President of the Vermont Principal’s Association, Chair of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges Commission on Public Secondary Schools and was Principal in Residence for the US Department of Education, and is an associate member of The Headmasters Association. She has been a member on various boards including UP for Learning, Vermont Health Foundation, and Young Writers Project. Val earned her BS from the University of Vermont and her MS from the University of Oregon.
