Jeff has been an educator and leader in Vermont since 1991. He currently serves as the Executive Director of Vermont Curriculum Leaders Association, teaches graduate courses at St. Michael’s College, and consults with Vermont school districts on school improvement strategies.  He was an English teacher and coached several sports at Champlain Valley Union High School, where he also served as a House Director and Principal. He was then the Director of Learning and Innovation at Champlain Valley School District until his retirement from the district in 2022. Jeff’s passion is proficiency-based instruction, and he has vast experience with leading transitions to PBL within CVU and CVSD. He is a persistent advocate for improving the conditions for learning for all students through his work with VTCLA and the legislative coalition. He has three grown children, and he enjoys reading, golf, and biking.
