Every two years for the past 26 years, The Snelling Center has organized and delivered an orientation for newly elected legislators in Vermont.

The New Legislator Orientation program is designed to provide information on the legislature, its budget process, its procedures, caucuses and committees, as well as its interaction with other branches of state government, the media and its constituents.

Just as important, the program is designed to provide an opportunity for new members to meet one another, as well as veteran legislators and the staff members who serve the legislators.

The 2024 Orientation is scheduled for Tuesday – Thursday, November 19 – 21 at the State House in Montpelier. Stay tuned for the official invitation with additional details.

We congratulate our newly elected representatives on being chosen to serve in the General Assembly, and are thankful for their willingness to serve the state of Vermont. We wish them the best as they begin what is certain to be a challenging and rewarding experience.
